Protecting patient choice. Tens of thousands of Californians rely on non-physician osteopathic manual care as part of their health and wellness journey, and preserving access ensures patients can continue to choose the care that works for them.
A long history of safe practice. Non-physician osteopaths have served communities for decades while respecting clear professional boundaries and providing conservative, hands-on care.
Supporting informed public policy. Regulatory decisions should be based on evidence, collaboration, and consumer interests rather than assumptions that could unnecessarily restrict access to care.
Recognizing established education and expertise. In many countries around the world, non-physician osteopaths complete rigorous education and are recognized as regulated allied health professionals dedicated to manual therapy.

About the Coalition
The Coalition of Non-Physician Osteopaths was established in 2026 in response to AB 1703. We are a group of non-physician osteopaths committed to protecting patient access to safe, non medical, hands-on osteopathic manual care.
We advocate for clear standards, consumer protection, and informed public policy while working collaboratively with legislators, regulators, healthcare professionals, and the communities we serve.
Our goal is simple: protect consumers, preserve patient choice, and support qualified practitioners through constructive solutions and meaningful dialogue.
